Make room for the next adaptation.

Recovery is the part of the training system that manages stress, restoration, and readiness so useful work can continue.

Recovery in the training environmentA real cooldown, mobility, hydration, or coach check-in after training; show the transition out of work rather than a spa-like scene.

What does recovery manage?

The relationship between training stress and readiness: how the athlete responds, what the next session demands, and whether the plan needs to hold, progress, or adjust.

What can it include?

Sleep and rest habits, fueling and hydration, cooldowns, mobility, easy movement, training-load adjustments, and communication about soreness, fatigue, or changing readiness.

Where does massage fit?

Massage therapy is one recovery tool. It may support comfortable movement, restoration, and readiness, but it does not replace the wider recovery plan or medical care when that is needed.

Is recovery the same every day?

No. Recovery choices should reflect the work just completed, the athlete’s response, and what comes next—not a fixed ritual applied regardless of context.
